“I honestly can’t count the number of personal care homes that “L” has lived in since 1997.  However, the good news is that since she came to Top of the Line approximately six years ago,  she honestly has been quite content and stable every since.  As a result, I  recommend Top of the Line highly.”

“Help Us Keep the Mentally Ill out of Prison”

Georgia’s prison population tripled between 1982 and 2000 and continues to increase.  Mental illness is a significant factor in the growth of the prison population.  According to the research report. Prisoner Reentry in Georgia, in 1997 ten percent of state prisoners nationally were reported as having mental illness (compared to two percent in the general population.)1

When mentally ill consumers are without proper treatment, structured rehabilitation and recovery programs, they become vulnerable to temptations of the streets and the victims of abuse, resulting in irrational outbursts of anger which may lead to incarceration.

With an alarming rate of closure of many residential care homes and reduced funding for state day programs, it has almost become inevitable to have a residential care home for the mentally ill without a structured program that fosters vocation, recreation and coaching of daily life skills, i.e. anger, depression, grief, co-dependency, money management, self esteem, trust, etc.

Our structured program has prevented the idleness of time while providing a means to keep our consumers out of the court and jail system.  Unfortunately, it requires additional funding in excess of the standard fees of residential care.  All of our consumers and/or their families cannot afford this extra service, but we believe all them would benefit from the services. Some people may think this type coaching and training is not important; however, at Top of the Line we regard every area of character building and effective management of emotions extremely viable towards the success of their becoming respectable citizens.  Ultimately, reducing the risk of incarceration.

Your monetary contributions will help support financially in coaching, counseling and providing extracurricular activities that will aid and benefit the success of mentally challenged individuals into society. Ultimately, reducing their risk of incarceration We appreciate your support in helping us achieve our goals. Please complete the Contribution Form and mail to 4321 Atlanta Street, Powder Springs, GA 30127.
