| Q | What is the range of ages for consumers at Top of the Line? |
| A | We accept male and females beginning at age 21 and older. Currently, our consumers are between 29 and 58 years |
| Q | How many consumers reside at Top of the Line? |
| A | We can accommodate ten (10) adults. |
| Q | Is there awake staff for the consumers around the clock? |
| A | Yes, Top of the Line provides twenty-four (24) hour watchful oversight. |
| Q | Are there planned activities for the consumers? |
| A | Yes, we have a monthly calendar with scheduled activities – eating out at different restaurants, bowling, swimming, hiking, shopping and library visits. As well as many other cultural events and outings. |
| Q | Do you accept Medicare and Medicaid waivers? |
| A | Unfortunately, No. We are strictly private pay. However, we will accept Special Needs Trust and will bill accordingly. |
| Q | Are the consumers coached on how to effectively deal with obstacles causing emotional turmoil in their life? |
| A | Yes, we conduct one hour Daily Life Skill classes three times a week. The classes cover a wide range of topics – depression, anger, grief, co-dependency, self esteem, building trust, etc. |
| Q | Do they participate in activities of daily living? |
| A | Yes, consumers with individualized treatment plans because of an identified need for direction and coaching in cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, washing. etc. are scheduled with staff to perform these responsibilities and their progress is documented. |
| Q | What is the relationship between Top of the Line and other health facilities in the communities? |
| A | The Director of Top of the Line is a Registered Nurse, a member of the Cobb Collaborative and a member of National Alliance of the Mentally Ill (NAMI Cobb ). She is well known and respected by hospitals, physicians, pharmacies, legal system and other facilities in Cobb county and metro Atlanta areas. |
| Q | What happens when care is needed for active mental illness? |
| A | Once staff has witnessed and confirmed that a consumer is actively hallucinating, delusional, psychotic, and cannot be managed through the therapeutic skills of the staff and medication, the consumer will be taken to the nearest emergency room or mental health center for further evaluation and treatment. |
| Q | What happens if the client is hospitalized? Can he/she return to the facility? |
| A | Usually yes. Once the client has had a change or
increase of medication, therapy, a new behavioral plan written and
has been stabilized, they are usually ready to return
to Top of the Line. The family, physician, and the client
will be the determining factor if and when the consumer
should return. The only time a consumer may not return is if he/she has left on irrevocable circumstances and unresolved conflicts. |
